Caesar Napoli & Spivak PLLC, a New York law firm, is accepting applications for its 2024 scholarship program.
The firm will award two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each.
This is the third year that the firm is supporting Asian American students in their pursuit of higher education.
The firm created the scholarship to give back to the Asian American community whose interest it has been representing since 1990, according to James Napoli, the firm’s founding partner.
“My promise to the community when I started my firm was that they would be treated with the best quality legal services we could provide and that our firm would always deal in honesty and respect with all our clients. I believe that I have lived up to this promise,” said Napoli.
“I now see the next generation and they have shown that they can compete equally and often better than their peers. Sometimes all they need is a helping hand. That is what we are doing here,” he added.
Asian American college students have the highest average unmet financial need of any ethnic group. Seventy-nine percent of Asian American students cannot pay the full cost of college, and low-income Asian American students face an average of $16,756 of unmet financial needs.
To qualify for the Caesar Napoli & Spivak PLLC Scholarship, students must be high school seniors who identify as Asian Americans and live in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Applicants must also plan on enrolling in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the 2024-25 academic year.
To apply, students must write a 500-word essay on how growing up and living in an immigrant family has shaped them or how being an Asian American has shaped their life experiences.
Applications are due by July 31, 2024.
