HomeAdvisor is challenging students to break new ground in green home improvement by offering a $1,000 scholarship every year to one student.

Show off your green side! Write a 1,000-2,000 word essay for your chance to win $1,000.
Eligibility:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a U.S resident
- Must be accepted to, or enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any college, university or trade school in the United States.
How to apply:
Submit a 1,000-2,000 word essay, to Scholarship@homeadvisor.com, on the following theme: Why is green home improvement important in the world today? Why is green home improvement important to you?
Some questions to consider are:
1. Why is going green in the home important?
2. What are some of the best ways to make a home more green?
3. What are some of the best green alternatives to use in the home?
4.What are some unique green alternatives to use in the home?
Deadline: December 15th
Amount: $1,000
Tip: Don’t be afraid to be yourself! Your essay will be judged based on their creativity, originality, quality and relevance towards green home improvement innovations.
