All the scholarships in this list have topics related to law and policy. Not all scholarships require you to be a law student although an interest in law helps!

1. Albertson & Davidson LLP Scholarship – $2,500 – Apply annually by April 26
Write a 500 word essay answering the following question: Courts in the United States have little power to change the terms of a valid will, even if some of its terms seem unfair to people who would normally expect to inherit assets. Do you think that it should be legal to disinherit your spouse or children, and should courts be able to change the terms of a will that they decide is unfair? Why or why not?
2. Alan Lescht and Associates Essay Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by October 17
Write an essay of no more than 750 words on the following topic: “Companies frequently require employees to sign non-disclosure agreements that prohibit the employee for going to work for a competitor, even if they are fired without cause. Should non-compete agreements be unlawful? Why or why not?”
3. Center for Alcohol Policy Essay Contest – Up to $2,500 – Apply annually by December 2
Students, academics, practicing attorneys, policymakers and members of the general public are encouraged to submit essays.
4. The Bruning Law Firm Annual Essay Contest – $500 – Apply annually by December 1
Write a 500-word essay answering the following question: What law or laws would you create to make the roads safer?
5. The Advocates Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply biannually by May 15 & December 11
In an effort to help with the costs of attending college, The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day are offering two $1,000 scholarships for current or prospective college students!
6. Weisblatt Law firm, LLC Scholarship -$1,000 – Apply annually by July 15
The Weisblatt Law Firm appreciates both the value of education as well as the need to help others.
7. USAttorneys.com Immigration Scholarship Essay Contest – $2,500 – Apply biannually by July 1 & February 1
Write a legal essay on immigration for a chance to win $2,500!
8. Zavodnick, Zavodnick & Lasky, LLC College Scholarship Essay Contest -$1,000 – Apply annually by June 1

9. The Kenneth P. Carp College Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by December 31
The Annual Kenneth P. Carp College Scholarship helps students succeed. Write a 500 word essay on a given legal topic and you could win a $1,000 scholarship!
10. The Future Leaders of Washington DC Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply by December 31
The DC Lawn Service is offering a $1,000 scholarship to the student who has what it takes to lead the next generation of government in Washington DC.
11. Prevent Gun Violence Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by August 20
This $1,000 scholarship by Legal Templates is designed to get our nation’s youth to think critically about the interaction between laws and society, specifically the relationship between gun ownership laws and gun violence rates in U.S. society.
12. Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team Education Scholarships – $1,000 – Apply annually by December 1
Each year, the Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team awards two $1,000 scholarships to innovative and highly creative high school and college students.
13. Arizona DUI Team Educational Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by December 1
All students are welcome to apply but students interested in law are especially encouraged to apply!
14. Thomas L. Dickson College Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by May 15
Make a 1-3 minute video that answers the following question: Is getting a law degree still a good investment?
15. Bachus and Schanker Scholarship – $2,000 – Apply biannually by July 30 & November 30
Write an essay of no fewer than 800 words about your opinion on the importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment and how it affects your life. Consideration for the entirety of the Amendment (rather than the well-known nutshell explanation of the right to trial by jury) is encouraged.
16. Duffy Law, LLC Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by July 15
In an effort to make things a little easier for students and their families, Duffy Law offers an annual $1,000 scholarship.
17. Halscott Megaro Scholarship – $2,000 – Apply by January 1
Submit pictorial essay depicting the relationship between art and law. Submit one drawing, image, photograph, or other visual illustration depicting the relationship of a law concept and art.
18. Dodson Law Scholarship for Brain Injury Victims & Their Caregivers – $1,500 – Apply by June 30
Jim’s personal experience representing brain injury victims and his strong belief in the value of a college education led him to create a $1,500 college scholarship offered specifically to injury victims and their loved ones.
19. Brian Zeiger Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply biannually by April 10 & TBD
In an effort to help students meet their financial needs the Zeiger Firm offers a $1,000 scholarship to each winner of the biannual Brian Zeiger college scholarship essay contest.
20. Garcia, Artigliere, Medby & Faulkner Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by August 15
The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a single student to help support their efforts in joining the legal or nursing workforce.
21. The Meldon Law Scholarship – $1,000 – Apply annually by January 20
Write a 500-word response to the following question: Over the last decade, teenage driving became a controversial topic. Many argue that states should implement stricter drivers license requirements and increase the legal driving age. What are alternative prevention methods states can take to reduce crashes and injuries among young drivers?
