Scholarship Summary
“Money” and “poetry” are two words we rarely hear together—and that’s something Power Poetry wants to change!
New scholarship slams are open every few months. Keep checking back!

Express yourself and talk about what matters, and win some cash while you do it!
Eligibility
- You must be a current or former high school student who will attend or is attending college within the US or its territories.
- Gradaute students are welcome to apply, as long as they are under age 25 at the time of submission.
How to Apply
- Register as a member of Power Poetry (if you haven’t already).
- Slam away!
Prizes
Each scholarship slam awards $1,000 to an amazing poet.
Quick Tips
- Be personal and creative with your entries!
- Each user may only submit one poem for each scholarship slam.
- There is no minimum (or maximum) number of words you need in your poem to apply for a scholarship.
- You are welcome to use a poem you have already written (on Power Poetry and elsewhere), but illustrate change and growth by submitting new or updated works!
