Hello student artists! Today I’m here to share a very exciting opportunity with you to get your work published online and potentially included in retail storefronts! Not only would this be a great way to improve your portfolio, this contest also comes with a $1,000 award for the winner and a $250 award for the runner-up! The Student Design Competition Scholarship is your chance to share your art with the world, get noticed, and make money doing it.

Produce an original art piece based on the theme ANIMALS/WILDLIFE, and submit it along with a video or slideshow showing the step-by-step progress of your work.

Eligibility

• Any graduating high school senior planning to major in art
• Any student artists currently enrolled (full or part-time) in an arts program at a college, trade school, or university

How to Apply

• Create an original piece of artwork of your medium of choice (pencil, paintbrush, finger-paints, etc) based off the theme ANIMALS with an emphasis on modern, abstract, contemporary or urban style.
• Create a video or image slideshow of your piece, showcasing the various stages of production.

Image Requirements

• The design ultimately must be digital.
• File must be minimum of 300dpi at about 48″W x 24″H (DPI is in reference to how many dots per square inch are in the file).
• .ai or .eps file type preferred – .png or .jpg will work as long as the size and resolution is in compliance.

Video Requirements 

• Post your video on YouTube or Vimeo.
• The first line in the description of the video must be: www.moderncrowd.com Design Contest Submission

Quick Tips

• Because there is not many requirements of what type of artwork you create, aside from following the theme, you have a lot of room to be creative and share your particular artistic flair.
• Follow the image/video requirements. Failing to do so will eliminate you from a chance at $1,000.
• Share your video on social media and alert all your friends!
