Scholarship Summary

StudySoup is constantly looking for ways to improve the educational experiences of college students, including finding ways to lighten their financial burdens. That’s why they are offering a $1,000 scholarship to women seeking a career in computer science and/or computer programming, a field they are highly underrepresented in.

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a female student who demonstrates a passion for computer science and is actively seeking opportunities for a meaningful career in the industry.

Scholarship Eligibility

Any individual at least eighteen (18) years old who meets one of the following criteria:

  • Currently attending high school (or equivalent) and will be attending an accredited university or college in the next academic year.
  • Currently attending an accredited university or college (undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible).
How to Apply

Answer the following questions:

1) Why do you want to pursue a career in computer science and/or computer programming? (Max 250 words)
2) Explain the importance of computer scientists and computer programmers in today’s society. (Max 250 words)
3) Tell us how to plan to empower other women to pursue careers in industries they are currently underrepresented in. (Max 250 words)
  • Essay must follow an organized, multiple-paragraph format.
  • Essay must exhibit the standard rules of grammar & mechanics.
Judging Criteria:
  • Clarity of expression: 25%
  • Creativity: 25%
  • Originality of expression: 25%
  • Sincerity: 25%
