Offered by the Asian Pacific Fund, the Chevron Filipino Employees Network Scholarship is an annual award offered to Asian or Pacific Islander students in California who are interested in science or engineering. Applicants must be incoming freshmen majoring in engineering, computer science, physical science, or environmental science. Additionally, applicants must be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census, be residents of California, meet a minimum 2.8 GPA requirement, and demonstrate financial need.

American Association of Blacks in Energy Scholarship – Up to $5,000

The American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) offers scholarships for underrepresented minority students (Black or African American, Hispanic, and Native American) studying energy-related fields, including business, a physical science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Each year, 13 scholarships are awarded: 12 scholarships of $3,000 and one scholarship of $5,000 — the $5,000 award is renewable for up to 4 years if the recipient maintains the required minimum GPA andan eligible major). The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) offers various scholarships to students who are studying in a STEM field and identify as American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islanders, and Indigenous peoples of Canada. The AISES 3M Scholarship is open to incoming college freshman who fit this profile who are studying any STEM field.

Three scholarships are awarded each year in the amount of $6,000 (Grand Prize), $2,000 (Runner-Up), and $1,000 (Honorable Mention). Applicants must be: at least 18 years of age; female, accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time STEM degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports for the remainder of the student’s undergraduate study and/or for a graduate degree program; and an international student allowed to legally study in the United States (including DACA) or Canada. Applicants need not be MPOWER borrowers to apply for this scholarship.
