Amount: $12,000-$20,000 (over 4 years). About: The Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities Scholarship (VAMOS) program is awarded to Hispanic high school seniors from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas who are going on to study at a U.S. institution of higher education. Students attending the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley are eligible for $3,000 per year for a maximum of four years. Students attending other institutions are awarded $5,000 per year, for a total of $20,000.
