AFSA Merit Scholarship

Amount: Up to $3,500. About: The American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) offers two merit scholarships for students whose parents or guardians are Foreign Service employees and members of the AFSA: Academic Merit Scholarship and Art Merit Scholarship. Applicants must be high school seniors and the legal dependents of a U.S. government Foreign Service employee. For the Academic Merit Scholarship, applicants must have a minimum GPA of at least 3.0. For the Art Merit Scholarship, applicants must have a minimum GPA of at least 2.75 and submit only one application under the categories of Creative Writing, Musical Arts, Performing Arts, or Visual Arts.

Residency Requirement: No residency requirement
Minimum GPA: 3.25 (for Academic Merit Award), 2.75 (for Art Merit Award)
