Amount: $20,000. About: The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has scholarships for American women who are pursuing full-time study to complete their dissertation. Fellowships are available for students in any field, however, special preference is given to students pursuing research in science, technology, engineering, and math fields, as well as to those researching gender issues in a variety of fields. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, identify as a woman, be in any field of study, be in final year of writing the dissertation, have completed all coursework, passed all preliminary exams, and had the dissertation research proposal or plan approved by November 1, and meet other requirements.
