Amount: $1,500. About: Offered by the New York State Section of AWWA (NYSAWWA), the John A. Biros Scholarship is a $1,500 award created to honor his active involvement as an AWWA member and his dedication to the water industry. Applicants must be a primary member of NYSAWWA or immediate family of a primary NYSAWWA member; be currently enrolled as a full-time student with at least freshman standing in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited college or university in the United States; and be a New York State resident or attending school at an accredited New York State college or university. NYSAWWA will also consider an applicant’s academic achievement and extracurricular activities as part of the selection process.
