The Journey Toward Ordained Ministry Scholarship is one of several scholarships offered by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM), a United Methodist Church educational organization. This scholarship is reserved for undergraduate and graduate students who are of a racial or ethnic minority and are pursuing ordained ministry (deacon or elder). Applicants must be age 30 or under, have at least two years of membership in the United Methodist Church, and be enrolled in an institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.85 GPA. Graduate students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Interested students must apply through the GBHEM general scholarship application. Applications open in January each year.
