About:
The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Foundation’s Rural Scholarship is annually awarded to students living in rural areas who are pursuing master’s degrees in counseling. Applicants must be enrolled in a CACREP-accredited counseling master’s program, reside in a rural area, be currently enrolled full-time in a CACREP-accredited counseling master’s-level program, commit to becoming board certified by applying for the National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification prior to graduation and to completing the application process, and and be committed to providing mental health services to those in a rural area within one year after graduating and for at least two years after graduation.
Eligible Grade Levels: Graduate Student
Eligible Majors: CACREP-accredited Counseling (Master’s)
Residency Requirement: U.S. rural areas
Minimum GPA: No GPA requirement
