About: The Dr. Blanca Moore-Velez Woman of Substance Scholarship is an annual award by the NANBPWC, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the interests of Black women in business. Applicants must be an African American female who’s at least 35 years old, be a U.S. citizen, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale by February 1; complete the scholarship application form online; and submit a typed essay of 300 words on the topic: “Challenges of the Mature Student and How I Overcame Them.”
