Amount: $30,000. About: The Veteran of Foreign Wars administers an annual audio-essay scholarship program for high school students. The program is open to students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in public, private, parochial school, or home study program in the United States, its territories, or its possessions. The dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel who are enrolled in overseas schools are also eligible to participate. Applicants must answer a patriotic-themed essay prompt and record themselves reading it aloud.
